American Traveler is hiring an experienced LPN for a night shift Medical Surgical assignment requiring an active NY LPN license and recent acute care experience.

Details

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit caring for adult patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbations, infections, and failure to thrive
• Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (4x12), for a 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Required to float within skillset as needed throughout the facility
• Epic charting experience required
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6

Requirements

• Active New York Single State LPN license required (pending license not accepted; NY is not Compact)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience within the past 2 years, able to take own patient assignment with RN support
• Proficient in vital signs, pain assessment, specimen collection, isolation precautions, medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, IV therapy with pumps, ear/eye drops), telemetry monitoring, and 12-lead EKG
• Experienced with wound care, feeding tube management, Foley catheter insertion, oxygen administration, and blood glucose monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing basic and specialized nursing tasks, medication administration, and monitoring patient status with timely communication to RN/MD
• Must wear navy blue and white scrubs
• Must submit all time off and special scheduling requests at time of application
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Local candidates are accepted as LPNs
• Expect support from RN staff when managing patient assignments
