Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department position with night shifts and a requirement for a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 14-bed Pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient population includes ages 0-20
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4, subject to staffing conditions
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• Required to work every other weekend and major holidays
• Conscious sedation skills utilized

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred (not required to be pediatric specific)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI (or completion of de-escalation module) required
• Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided)
• Copy of nursing diploma or transcript required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Will be responsible for delivering comprehensive emergency care to pediatric patients
• Epic EMR training is preferred
• Must successfully complete pass/fail EKG testing on the first day (two attempts allowed)
• Expectation to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers considered
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
