American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and Cerner experience.

Details

• Work in an acute care hospital in the Endoscopy/GI lab
• Unit includes 3 procedure bays handling 15-30 procedures per day
• Common procedures include ERCP, EGD, PEGs, various scopes, and some bronchoscopies with RT support
• Cerner is the charting system used; prior Cerner experience required
• Days, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with varied start times between 07:00 and 10:00 based on case schedule
• On-call is required: Monday-Friday from 15:00-07:00 and Saturday/Sunday 07:00-07:00, with 2 required weekday call shifts per week and 2 required weekend days per month
• Call only for weekend and holiday coverage
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent GI/Endoscopy nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Successful completion of a procedural sedation competency test required
• Prior Cerner experience required
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Two references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Candidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year

Additional Information

• Perform and assist with a variety of endoscopic and GI procedures, including cases in the OR as needed
• Work with a supervisor charge nurse and a team that includes GI techs
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7; however, there is no dedicated IV team
• A week of floor-specific orientation is provided or until the nurse is comfortable
• Hospital-provided scrub attire is required
• First time travelers will be considered for this assignment
