American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring Epic EMR experience and strong EKG interpretation skills.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is typically 1:6 on a 130-bed unit
• Night shift with 3x12 hour shifts per week
• No on-call required
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Drips managed include heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
• Tele reads and rhythm strip interpretation required
• Epic EMR is used and Epic experience is required
• May float to Behavioral Health, ED, ICU, and post-procedural areas

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Med/Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele settings
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and de-escalation (MOAB, CPI, or MAB) required
• Must be able to confidently perform all telemetry duties including EKG/ECG interpretation
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must pass Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a minimum score of 80% during onboarding
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of nursing experience
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility

Additional Information

• Contribute to an interdisciplinary team and provide comprehensive nursing care through the nursing process
• Required to work 2 out of 3 major 2025 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving)
• Only 1 day of time-off may be requested during peak holiday periods (November 26-30 and December 23-January 2)
• Orientation is 16 hours
• Candidates employed within the last 12 months by the client may not be eligible
