American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position caring for post-operative surgical patients with telemetry experience on a 28-bed hospital unit.

Details

• Work setting is a 28-bed medical-surgical telemetry hospital unit
• Patient population consists of post-operative surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Nurses are responsible for reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, and Insulin
• Experience with PCA pumps, epidurals, chest tubes, and continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs) is required
• State-of-the-art bedside monitors are used in every patient room
• Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg, PACU, or post-operative care within a hospital setting
• Proven tele strip reading experience is required
• Previous travel contract must have been completed in the last 12 months; first-time travelers not eligible
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Supervisory reference from within the last 2 years required

• Core responsibilities include providing skilled nursing care to a diverse surgical patient population with a focus on telemetry and complex medication management
• Team members are trained on advanced bedside monitoring equipment
• Travelers are required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Time off is limited to 1 day between holiday periods from 11/26 to 11/30 and 12/23 to 1/2 for all travelers
