American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a long-term care facility assignment in Alaska, requiring an active state license and current BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric residents requiring skilled nursing care
• Day and night shifts available with variable scheduling
• Use of standard medical equipment such as Dynamapp, thermometers, Datascope, and Pulse Oximetry

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or LVN program
• Active Alaska LPN license in good standing (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required for duration of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in hospital or long-term care; new graduates accepted
• Ability to pass medication math test for adults and pediatrics upon arrival
• Documentation of JC-required nursing competencies and IV certification course

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within scope of practice in collaboration with the care team
• Participate in orientation conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday at assignment start
• Hospital housing provided in shared units with private bedrooms (single-gender units, no dogs)
• Facility reimburses economy-level flights to and from assignment with required receipts
• Flight itinerary must be submitted 1 week before start; facility assists with airport pick-up on arrival
• Competency in IV/central line care, fall precautions, age-specific care, abuse/neglect response, pain management, blood transfusions, and related skills expected
• Work in a remote area with travel and housing support provided
