Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position requiring a technical CST diploma and CVOR expertise.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Call required every other weekend and two days per week
• Rotational coverage required every third weekend

Requirements

• Active KY or compact state RN license
• Technical diploma from a CST training program is required; CST certification must be obtained through formal education
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience
• Proficient in cardiac surgical procedures
• Demonstrated skills in aseptic technique, universal protocol, radiation/laser/fire safety, specimen labeling and handling, and sterilization/disinfection

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and providing first assist in complex CVOR cases
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper handling of surgical specimens
• Applicant must be able to provide a PDF copy of their driver's license and Social Security Number at the time of consideration
• Strict compliance with documentation requirements regarding CST education
