American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Alaska requiring an active AK RN license and strong cardiac procedural skills.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab within a hospital setting
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, interventional radiology procedures, holding area procedures, and provide imaging department nursing support
• Shift is five 8-hour day shifts per week, typically Monday to Friday from 0700-1530
• Call is required with schedule determined by staffing needs
• Some weekend shifts may be required based on staffing needs
• Unit has 4-6 procedure rooms
• EPIC is used for clinical documentation

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license required
• Current CPR certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required upon hire
• PALS or ENPC certification (AHA) required within six months of hire
• Graduate of a school of nursing
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology
• Experience with moderate sedation
• Competency in cardiac physiology, 12-lead EKG interpretation, physiologic monitoring, pacemaker operation, and use of radiographic equipment
• Experience using EPIC EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating, scrubbing, and hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac and interventional radiology procedures, as well as pre, intra, and post-procedural patient assessment and instruction
• Responsible for maintaining procedure documentation and supporting departmental standards
• Candidates participate in a general orientation and department-specific training on their first day
• Scrubs are the required dress code
• This is a new service line, so team orientation and adaptability are important
• All regular and supplemental staff receive a thorough service partner orientation
