American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts in New York, requiring proficiency in vascular, orthopedic, and robotic cases and a current NY RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital Operating Room covering a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, orthopedic, trauma, and robotic cases
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Typical schedule is night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend shifts are expected, typically one to two weekends per month depending on volume
• On-call duties are not required
• Uses EPIC for electronic documentation; experience preferred
• Omnicell system used for medication management
• Direct provider support with in-house CRNA and anesthesiologist coverage 24/7

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Experience in community hospital setting required
• Level 2 Trauma experience required; Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in vascular, orthopedic, and robotic surgical procedures required
• EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to provide two managerial references (not Charge RN)
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

• Duties include assisting with thoracic, endoscopic, general, gyn, neurology, ortho, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology, and trauma surgeries
• Professional reliability is essential and excessive requests for time off will not be accommodated
• Only one pre-approved time off request allowed per contract; maximum of five days
• No RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Returning former NYU permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Parking in employee garage provided at no cost; street parking also available
• Unit does not accept first-time travelers unless candidate has over 5 years of OR experience
• EKG testing may be required and must be completed within 72 hours of signing
