Description

American Traveler is seeking an LPN with WY or compact license and BLS certification to provide skilled nursing care in a long-term care setting, with all shifts and weekends required.

Details

• Position based in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility with a 160-bed capacity
• Patient ages range from mid-30s to mid-90s with diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, vascular disease, stroke, and neuromuscular disorders
• Duties include medication administration, IV therapy, feeding tubes, wound management, trach and ostomy care, therapy, and restorative care
• 12-hour night shifts required with support from certified nurse aides
• Patient load may be up to 20 residents if administering all medications, or up to 45 with medication aides
• Use of Meditech for EMR and MedRight for medication administration
• Equipment includes vital sign towers, INR monitors, glucometers, lifts, bladder scanner, IV and CADD pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, and assistive devices
• All shifts and weekends are required based on facility needs
• Must be willing to work in all neighborhoods within the facility

Requirements

• Active WY or compact LPN license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Preferred experience in medsurg and geriatrics
• Must have strong skills in medication administration, IV therapy, wound management, trach and ostomy care
• Ability to use Meditech EMR and MedRight medication system
• Must provide two current references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring and managing complex skilled nursing cases, and performing restorative therapies
• Support staff includes certified nurse aides on each shift
• Two-day orientation provided prior to starting regular assignments
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs, with no facial piercings and all full sleeve or objectionable tattoos covered
• Must adhere to all facility policies including dress code and neighborhood assignments
