Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience, holding a TX or compact RN license and weekend availability.

Details

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit at a short-term acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center environment
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Required to work 5-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Floating between units and to sister facilities within the state may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR system used is Epic; Epic experience is required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay
• Must provide two supervisory references from the last three years
• Facility does not accept Nursys or background check hits
• Returning staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as traveler

Additional Information

• Must commit to working at least 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Solid navy blue scrubs are required for licensed nursing personnel; no print tops permitted
• Free surface parking is available in designated employee/visitor lots
• Pre-assignment and annual online training modules are required
• All travelers must be flexible to float as needed and refusal may lead to contract termination
• Minimal to no RTO is permitted; all time-off requests must be submitted up front
• First time travelers are accepted
