American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN with at least 2 years of pediatric emergency nursing experience and a current NM or compact RN license for night shifts.

Details

• Position is in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma teaching children's hospital
• Night shifts are 4x12 hours, starting at 16:00
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4 but may increase during busy periods
• Care for pediatric emergency and trauma patients, performs admission holds during high census
• Primary charting system is Cerner, previous experience preferred
• Travelers may be required to float to pediatric admission floors as needed
• Weekend shifts required as scheduled; weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Current NM or compact RN license; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric emergency department experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, ENPC (ENPC must be active prior to signing)
• COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions considered with appropriate documentation
• Skills required: Pediatric triage, dosage calculations, phlebotomy, IV starts, 12 Lead EKG and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must not reside within 75 miles of the facility (no locals)
• First-time travelers accepted with strong experience
• No RQI certifications accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ED nursing care, triage, resuscitation, trauma care, and patient stabilization
• Trauma/resuscitation experience is preferred
• Scrub color is black
• Drug screening and compliance requirements must be completed promptly
• No RTO allowed on specified blackout dates (12/12-12/15, 12/24-12/25); requests for time off greater than 7 days require approval
• Travelers can work up to 12 consecutive months before a break is required
• Perm staff may return as travelers if separated for 12 months or longer
• Orientation includes required modules and unit education
• Parking is free on site
