American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a correctional Med/Surg role in Illinois with mandatory floating and weekend shift requirements.

Details

• Work in correctional divisional units providing Med/Surg nursing care
• Full-time position with five day shifts per week (3x12s, 7:00 to 19:30)
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating to any unit within the facility and potentially to other facilities up to 50 miles away may be required, sometimes with short notice
• No block scheduling and no special scheduling requests are accommodated
• No home unit; may be assigned to a team-based model outside of primary competency

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
• Must complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting assignment
• Must provide all compliance documents by the week prior to orientation
• Candidates living within a 75-mile radius are considered local

Additional Information

• Med/Surg RNs will provide nursing care for correctional populations in a secure environment
• Strict compliance with documentation and onboarding deadlines is required
• No holiday RTO allowed, and no RTO will be approved the day before or after a holiday
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no weekend RTO
• If floated outside primary competency, a team-based support model will be provided
