American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position caring for trauma and complex surgical patients with CRRT and other advanced critical care skills required.

Details

• Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at a Level II Trauma Center
• Specialized population includes trauma, CV surgery (TAVR, CABG), neurosurgery, and complex surgical patients
• Ratios are 1:2-3 in SICU and 1:3-4 if floating to step down unit
• Required to float within scope according to facility needs
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00-19:00
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system; experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• CRRT experience is mandatory and proficiency in at least one of the following: IABP, Impella, Prismax, or EVD drain management
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, blood product administration, and management of high acuity surgical/trauma/ventilator cases required

Additional Information

• Patient conditions include acute cardiopulmonary issues, multi-organ failure, severe sepsis, trauma, code blue, and open heart recovery
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Holiday time off requests will not be approved
• No travel pairs allowed for this assignment
• RTO is at manager's discretion
• Local candidates are accepted
• Team members must wear navy blue scrubs while on duty
