American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position in Missouri, requiring a MO or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.

Details

• Work within a float pool, covering medical, surgical, oncology, renal, neuro, and cardiology units in a short-term acute care setting
• Required to float to all medical units as needed, with possible pre-assignment to specific units communicated in advance
• Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for days and weekends, and 1:6 for nights
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required, with holiday rotation
• No on-call responsibilities
• EPIC charting system is used and experience is required
• Special equipment includes lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner (training provided)
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years' recent RN experience
• Certifications required: BCLS and ACLS
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
• No previous permanent employment at this facility within the last year
• First-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Float assignments may be inside the hospital or to affiliated nearby hospitals and are communicated prior to shift
• RNs in the float pool are required to call in up to one hour before scheduled shift to receive unit assignment
• Holiday coverage is expected as part of rotation
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week
• All standard travelers are eligible to stay up to 18 months, then must take a 3-month break
• Modules and fit testing required prior to start, with up to 16 hours of pre-start/compliance modules compensated
• Free parking available on-site
• Permanent staff must wait one year after leaving before returning as a traveler
