American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of experience, neuro PCU skills, and an active NC or compact license.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit
• Patient population includes medical neurological patients, including CVA cases and respiratory support with external CPAP/BiPAP
• Uses centralized cardiac monitoring department (CCMD) for surveillance
• EPIC is the EMR system and experience is required
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Must be available to work one holiday and one evening during the holiday period
• Self-scheduling in 6-week blocks via Optilink
• Float required to all affiliated facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact state RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including neuro PCU experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass a facility EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• General and charge RN experience preferred

• Responsibilities include caring for neurological patients and administering specialized procedures such as CPAP/BiPAP, TR band application, and Yale Swallowing screen
• Centralized monitoring support available for cardiac surveillance
• Orientation modules are required and completed during orientation

• Strict attendance and punctuality expectations with a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness or unexcused absences
