American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an MS/Tele Float position requiring a CA RN license, two years of telemetry experience, and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• Work in a hospital MS/Tele Float setting with potential to float to Med-Surg
• Care for adolescent through geriatric patients including general medical, surgical, and moderate orthopedic surgical cases
• Average census is 36 with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Shift is night, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Royal blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years telemetry experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response teams
• Total joint orthopedic surgery experience required
• Ability to perform post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Proficiency in blood product administration, central line and PICC management, IV starts, and heparin protocols
• Able to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Must have skills in chest tube management, external CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway management, oxygen masks, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to read cardiac strips required

Additional Information

• Responsible for caring for medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients in telemetry and Med-Surg settings
• Work with rapid response teams and participate in emergency response as needed
• Pre-assignment modules required and must be completed before start date
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• No requests for time off will be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Once RTO is submitted it cannot be changed except to cancel requested time off
• Return staff eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
