American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg and Telemetry float unit
• Census of 36 patients with 36 beds and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for adolescent through geriatric patient population
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00), every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• May float between Telemetry and Med-Surg units
• Scrubs must be royal blue

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, post-cardiac procedures, and telemetry (both on-unit and remote monitoring)
• Experience with ventilators, groin care, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• IV therapy skills including central line, PICC management, and starting IVs
• Experience administering blood products and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• References required
• Pre-employment training modules required

Additional Information

• Provide care for patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs, including those on ventilators and with external airway devices
• May care for post-MI, post-cardiac surgery, and cardiac cath patients
• Expected to manage a variety of respiratory therapies like CPAP/BiPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• RTO requests allowed but not during the first two weeks, with a maximum of 3 days RTO per contract
• One holiday RTO may be submitted but is not guaranteed
• Royal blue scrubs required
