Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position, requiring an active NJ or Compact license and experience with cardiac patient care.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Care for a cardiac patient population including post-pacemaker placement, post-cardiac cath, and cardiac drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, and dobutamine
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Clinical Care Techs provide additional unit support
• Scheduled for 12-hour day shifts (7:00–19:30) with every other weekend required
• Floating may be required to Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis medication system

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or similar experience
• Experience working with cardiac drips and post-cardiac procedures preferred

Additional Information

• RNs will be required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Return staff must have at least a 1-year break from prior employment in the health system before being eligible
• Orientation includes 4 hours of EPIC training and completion of onboarding modules
• Clinicians must adhere to agreed upon schedules and makeup missed shifts within the pay period
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
