Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license and required advanced certifications for a float pool position.

Details

• Position is in the ICU float pool of an acute care hospital
• May be required to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals within the state
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Uses Epic for charting
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Weekend shifts required, likely exceeding every other weekend
• Must be willing to work holiday shifts
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand; no temporary licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHS Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Experience charting in Epic required
• Must provide 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• All ICU RNs are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required for nursing staff
• Must commit to working at least 3 out of 5 key holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Time off requests must be included at time of application and are subject to approval
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must reside outside a 50-mile radius

• Mandatory completion of onboarding modules prior to start
• First-time travelers are eligible for this assignment
