Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties and on-call commitment.

Details

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital in the CVOR
• Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, surgical oncology, plastics, colorectal, robotics, and bariatric cases
• Must circulate all listed service lines; scrubbing cardiac and vascular cases is highly preferred
• Three 12-hour shifts per week, 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• Required to take one 24-hour on-call shift per month on a weekend
• Possible holiday coverage may be required
• EPIC is used for charting

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand at start
• Current AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVOR experience required
• Ability to circulate all specialty services listed
• Radiation badge (provided by agency) required for assignment
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Not preferred for first-time travelers
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rate; locals considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Serve as a circulating nurse for a variety of complex surgical procedures
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, especially from June to November
• Pre-assignment modules required and completed prior to start
• Free parking available in the Hagood Lot; night and weekend shifts have $20 parking available near the unit
• Holiday coverage may be assigned as needed
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; approvals depend on department needs
