Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license, EPIC experience, and successful completion of an EKG exam.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit
• Primary patient population is medical-surgical with telemetry monitoring capability
• Night shifts, 3x12s, 7:00pm – 7:30am
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6
• Floating to other units and campuses may be required
• May serve as Charge RN if needed
• Uses the Epic EMR system; experience required
• Blood product administration, peripheral IV care, heparin, insulin, and PCA experience required
• Use of rapid response teams and handling of isolation precautions as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR is mandatory
• Successful completion of a pass/fail EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• No first-time travelers considered
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Will be required to administer blood products and manage peripheral lines
• Must be able to care for patients on a nasal cannula and follow isolation protocols
• May need to take charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
• All travelers must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays
• Completion of unit-based modules (2-4 hours) during orientation is required
• Strict compliance deadlines must be met prior to the start date
• Holiday rotations and flexible scheduling are mandatory
• Facility has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
