American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Correctional position in Illinois requiring a current IL RN license and strong acute care background.

Details

• Work in a correctional facility providing Med/Surg nursing care
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 am to 11:30 pm, including every other weekend
• Mandatory floating required within up to 50 miles to other units or facilities as needed
• Patient charting is done using Cerner EMR
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active and current IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• BLS certification required
• Correctional nursing experience preferred
• COVID vaccination required (boosters not required)
• No pending licenses accepted
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility to be considered as local

Additional Information

• Must be willing and able to float to different units and facilities within a 50-mile radius as needed
• No block scheduling, and no special scheduling requests are accommodated
• Maximum of 5 days requested time off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days or weekends off; no RTO allowed before, after, or on holidays

• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• Strict compliance with documentation and deadlines is enforced
