American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a critical need Post Partum position in California requiring an active CA RN license and strong perinatal skills.

Details

• Work in a hospital postpartum unit
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Care for mothers and newborns with a focus on postnatal recovery
• Patient care includes newborn monitoring, maternal assessments, and administration of high-risk medications
• Use of newborn monitors, pulse oximetry, cardiac monitoring, and Bili-blankets/lights
• EMR used: Epic (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent postpartum experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Demonstrated ability with electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills and lab draws
• Experience with high risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
• Skills in urine point of care testing, capillary blood glucose testing, IStat, and adult cardiac monitoring
• Experience with newborn heel sticks/venipuncture and IV administration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• Responsibilities include maternal and newborn teaching, support for gyn and post-operative bladder training, and use of radiant warmers
• Team-based environment with opportunities for maternal-newborn education
• Training provided on unit-specific equipment and protocols
• Requires compliance with all vaccination policies including COVID and flu as directed by the facility
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Assignment limited by tenure policy: may not exceed two years without a 90-day break
