American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with a CA license and BLS certification for a night shift at a hospital-based Medical Surgical/Orthopedics unit.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical/Orthopedics department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including floating to different campuses as needed
• Use of Epic EMR system, with Epic experience preferred
• Shuttle provided when floating between campuses

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• Preferred prior experience with Epic charting system
• All certifications must be current and in hand at time of consideration
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 1 year to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for overall management and coordination of patient care from admission to discharge
• Assures patient safety, comfort, hygiene, disease prevention, and responds to medical emergencies
• Participates in assessments, individualized care planning, and patient/family education
• Delegates and supervises care partners and other team members appropriately
• Acts as a liaison between nursing, medical staff, patients, and families for collaborative care
• Serves as patient advocate and participates in multidisciplinary rounds
• Orientation includes required online learning modules, which are completed during orientation
• Only one holiday requested off will be approved per contract
• Locals are accepted at a different pay rate
