American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position with day shifts and pediatric cardiac ICU experience required.

Details

• Position is in a 29-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) at a Level I trauma, teaching, Magnet hospital
• Care for patients with congenital heart disease and complex cardiac conditions, including post-cardiac surgery, heart transplant, VAD, ECMO/CRRT, and cardiac catheterization
• Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
• All beds are monitored and equipped for cardiac and ventilatory support
• Works four 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:30) per week
• Weekend requirement is four weekend shifts within a four-week schedule; holiday rotation required
• Floating within scope to other units as needed
• Unit uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred (AHA only)
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU nursing experience required
• Cardiovascular and pediatric ICU experience required; VAD experience highly preferred
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• SSN and driver’s license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing care for pediatric patients with complex cardiac and critical care needs, including the use of advanced cardiac devices
• Multidisciplinary team support includes respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and ancillary services
• Unit holds 'Gold' Beacon Award and is recognized nationally for outcomes
• Pre-assignment modules are required and completed prior to start
• Block scheduling may be considered at manager's discretion
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All RTO must be submitted at application and is subject to approval
• During hurricane season (June–November), staff may be assigned emergency response duties
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius may be considered at a reduced rate
