Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with at least two years of recent operating room experience, SC or compact RN license, and BLS certification for a Level I trauma setting.

Details

• Work in the main Operating Room of a Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated hospital
• 21 OR suites serving a range of specialties including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics
• Shift is 3x12s, days, with coverage on Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday (6:30a-7p)
• Required to work at least one holiday period and up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
• No on-call required
• Floating may be required to other similar units to meet facility needs
• Charting is completed in Epic

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
• Minimum two years of recent OR RN experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a Level I trauma environment strongly preferred
• Scrub experience is strongly preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must provide SSN and valid Driver's License for consideration
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius for travel rate; local candidates considered at a reduced rate
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least one year to be eligible

Additional Information

• RN staff are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
• Work as part of a dynamic, nurse-driven team supported by 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
• Scrubs will be provided by the facility
• Completion of non-billable onboarding modules is required prior to start
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
• Holiday coverage is required for major periods such as Christmas and New Year's
• A parking permit is available for a nominal fee and covers use of a designated garage only
• Requested time off must be submitted at application and approval is based on facility needs
