American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a behavioral health night shift position requiring BCLS, CPI, and First Aid certification and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in a behavioral health inpatient unit providing care to adult patients
• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including weekdays and every other weekend
• Assigned to fill shifts not covered by regular staff, with no blocked schedules accommodated
• Uses Avatar EMR for documentation
• Contract duration is 13 weeks with possible extension

Requirements

• Active WV or compact LPN license required if applicable; pending license acceptable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required, preferably in a behavioral health or psych setting
• Current BCLS, CPI, and First Aid certifications required (CPI/First Aid may be completed during orientation)
• AHA certification renewals required
• At least two manager or charge references within the past 2 years required for consideration
• First-time travelers are accepted
• COVID and flu vaccination records and valid CPR card required at orientation
• Must complete WV fingerprinting at least 7-10 business days before start
• Completion of DHHR Release Form within 48 hours of signing is required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient observation, medication administration, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support for adults with behavioral health needs
• Orientation is held Mondays with required online modules completed before arrival; approximately 8 hours of modules
• P/F testing on at-home modules; two attempts allowed per section
• Blue scrubs (navy or royal blue) are provided
• Holiday time off requests are limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Local candidates are accepted under the same terms
• Permanent employees are not eligible to return as travelers and travelers may only work contracts up to 1 year
• Modules, CPI, and required forms must be completed prior to orientation for onboarding eligibility
