American Traveler is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN with at least one year of adult psych experience and a WV or compact RN license for a night shift position.

Details

• Work in a behavioral health hospital setting on adult behavioral health units
• Patient population includes adults with some forensic cases
• Night shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 7:00pm – 7:30am, with every other weekend required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:15-20 for adults/forensic units and 1:8 for adolescent units
• Travelers float to fill shifts not covered by regular staff; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Uses Avatar EMR system
• Blue (navy or royal blue) scrubs are provided

Requirements

• Active WV or compact state RN license in hand or pending
• Minimum one year of RN experience required
• Certifications required: BCLS (from AHA), CPI, and First Aid (CPI and First Aid can be obtained during orientation)
• Must provide at least two professional managerial or charge nurse references from the past two years
• COVID and Flu vaccination records, and CPR card required
• Fingerprinting must be completed in WV 7-10 business days prior to start; early arrival in WV may be necessary
• No prior permanent employment at this facility allowed for travelers
• Physical fingerprinting, DHHR Release Form, and compliance documentation are all required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing psychiatric nursing care to adult behavioral health patients in accordance with hospital protocols
• Orientation takes place on Mondays and includes required completion of onboarding modules and CPI training ahead of start date
• Modules (8 to 20 hours) must be completed before orientation, or the candidate will not be permitted to attend
• Strict attendance policy; absences of 3+ consecutive days require doctor’s clearance to return
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted
• Perm employee rehires are not accepted for traveler positions and travelers are limited to 1 year of contracts at this site
• Holiday time-off requests are limited to one of the three major holidays
• Onboarding requires timely completion of the DHHR Authorization and Release Form, which must be hand signed in blue ink
