American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in an acute care setting in California, requiring a current CA RN license and expertise in endoscopy procedures.

Details

• Work in an acute care GI/Endoscopy unit
• Care for patients undergoing GI and endoscopic procedures
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• 10-hour day and evening shifts with varied start times
• Call required and must be taken as scheduled
• Every other weekend (EOW) shifts required
• Must be willing to learn sedation and participate in call rotation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Experience in endoscopy or GI unit strongly preferred
• Must provide a copy of a valid driver’s license
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years
• Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) prior to an offer
• Must successfully complete sterile technique testing for Foley and central line procedures on first day of orientation

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing specialized nursing care for GI/endoscopy patients, including assisting with procedures and administering sedation as applicable
• Team-based work environment with support from experienced clinical staff
• Initial orientation includes 12 hours
• Pass/Fail testing required; failure on the second attempt disqualifies the candidate from CommonSpirit facilities in the Sacramento region for 6 months
• Candidates may not be former employees of CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms may be considered
• Compliance with agency testing, vaccination, and documentation requirements is mandatory
