American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant with strong cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic experience for a day shift assignment requiring privileging and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) as a Certified Surgical First Assistant
• Primary cases involve cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgeries
• Shifts are day shifts (3x12s), 6:30 to 19:00
• Call required 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks, subject to change
• Floating within the facility or to Main OR within scope of practice as needed
• Unit accepts first time travelers

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), NBSTSA or NCCSA certification required
• Cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical experience required
• Minimum 5 years experience preferred, 3 years considered for screening
• Completion of privileging process required prior to start (may take up to 120 days)
• Ability to complete core documents and schedule labs within 48 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assisting in cardiovascular surgical procedures as a first assistant
• Must be available to work during major holidays as outlined in facility policy
• Holiday RTO is limited according to assignment duration and holiday policy
• Floating may be required within facility based on departmental needs
• Perm or PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Modules and orientation hours are non-billable and included in assignment training
• Local and return travelers are welcome with same pay rate
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Two supervisory references (manager or above) highly preferred for consideration
