American Traveler is hiring an experienced Laboratory Manager for a blood bank supervisory role requiring ASCP MLS certification and supervisory experience.

Details

• Position is for a Blood Bank Supervisor in a hospital clinical laboratory setting
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
• No weekend or on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC EMR system, EPIC experience is required
• Equipment and procedures include Beckman, CellaVision, Sysmex XM, TEGs, automated instruments, specimen processing and handling, urinalysis, arterial blood gases, QC review and interpretation, and venipuncture
• Responsibilities include blood specimen storage, hazardous materials and MSDS, proper disposal and labeling, QA and controls, and adherence to transmission-based precautions
• All travelers may be required to float to any campus as needed

Requirements

• Active ASCP MLS certification required
• ASCP Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of four years of clinical laboratory experience required
• Supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory required
• Hospital clinical lab and management experience required
• Current EPIC EMR experience required
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required during compliance with up to two attempts allowed
• Education verification must not be from schools listed on the Diploma Fraud Florida Education Audit list
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals will not be considered

• Primary responsibilities include supervising blood bank operations and managing day-to-day workflow
• Role involves oversight of quality assurance, controls, and staff within the blood bank
• A zero-tolerance policy applies for tardiness and unexcused absences
• All travelers must complete required modules during orientation, averaging 2-4 hours
