Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse with strong PCU and cardiac telemetry experience for a night shift assignment requiring a NC or compact RN license and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on cardiac patient care
• Primary patient population includes acute coronary syndrome, pre and post cardiac catheterization, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, syncope, heart failure, and overflow progressive care patients
• Handles post-MI, pre and post-cardiac cath, TR bands, central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring
• Uses EPIC EMR system; EPIC experience required
• Night shifts: three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Required to sign up for at least 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• May be required to float to any affiliated campus as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with recent PCU and cardiac telemetry experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with rapid response teams and care for post-MI, cardiac cath, and heart failure patients
• Proficiency with central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring
• EPIC charting experience required
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam within two attempts
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals within this radius not accepted

• Floats to other campuses as necessary according to staffing needs
• Professionalism in attendance and punctuality is strictly enforced
• First-time travelers are welcome for this assignment
• Required modules completed during orientation, averaging 2-4 hours depending on unit
• RTO must be declared at time of application; no additional RTO granted after submission
• Education must be verified through a third-party service; certain diploma mills not accepted
• Candidates must be prepared to independently study for the mandatory EKG test as no materials are provided
