American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position, requiring TN or compact licensure and strong trauma/emergency care certifications.

Details

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department (ED) setting
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 in the ER
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 7:30)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or two weekends per month
• EMR system is Cerner FirstNet with Omnicell medication system
• Floating occurs in line with unit policy and clinical competency, with appropriate orientation provided

Requirements

• Valid RN license from TN or Compact state required at time of consideration
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS; CPI and TNCC preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of start date
• Experience with Cerner is preferred but not required
• Cannot return to a campus as a traveler within 24 months of prior permanent employment at that campus; 12 months required for other campuses within the system

• Handles a variety of emergency situations and critical patient care responsibilities
• Completion of departmental modules required during orientation and annually
• First day and ongoing orientation provided in compliance with The Joint Commission standards
• No blocked scheduling allowed for this assignment
• Holidays require full coverage; requests for time off during holidays or holiday weeks will not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted if residing within 75 miles, subject to local pay rate rules
• Travel teams with related individuals (family or spouses) cannot be assigned to the same unit
