American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown float pool position requiring an active OH or compact license and strong cardiac stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based cardiac stepdown float pool setting
• Assignment includes floating within stepdown and progressive care units as needed
• Patient population consists primarily of cardiac stepdown and progressive care cases
• Requires ability to work variable 12-hour shifts, both days and nights (7am-7:30pm/7pm-7:30am), as needed for operational needs
• Rotating holiday coverage is required

Requirements

• Active and permanent OH or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in cardiac stepdown or related specialty prior to travel is required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must achieve acceptable scores on ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate exams during orientation
• One supervisory reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required
• No pending licenses or certifications permitted at the time of consideration
• Background check and fingerprinting required prior to start; open cases not accepted
• Permanent and per diem employees must wait at least 1 year from prior end date before returning

• Responsibilities include delivering nursing care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients and floating as needed between units
• Team-based environment with flexible, rotating assignment based on hospital needs
• Training includes unit orientation and mandatory completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments, with two attempts allowed
• Required to pick up badge and complete onsite fingerprinting at the facility before the start date
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided during onboarding
• Modules must be completed prior to start; annual modules required for assignments exceeding one year
• Nicotine screening temporarily exempt for nurses; this policy is subject to change
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
