American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Acute Stroke Unit with a NY license in hand and EPIC proficiency required.

Details

• Position is in the Acute Stroke Unit of a tertiary care hospital
• The unit is a 39-bed combined stroke and acute medical care unit
• Care for patients with acute stroke, other neurological disorders, and acute medical conditions
• Includes care for cardiac patients post PCI, pacemaker/AICD placement, and post MI
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg
• Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias required
• Uses Epic EMR system and proficiency is required
• Both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) 12-hour shifts are available
• Floating is required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele or acute stroke experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is a hard requirement
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Role includes interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management
• Must practice isolation precautions and emergency response procedures
• Scrub color is any combination of navy and white
• Holiday and weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs
• Relevant modules must be completed pre-start
• Return staff must have a minimum 1-year separation from previous employment at the facility
