Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position caring for complex post-op and stroke patients, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, complex post-operative surgical cases, respiratory distress, and COVID
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Shift schedule is 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend is required
• Float to other critical care areas as needed within skillset
• Performs specialized procedures such as EVD

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous ICU nursing experience required
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients in SICU, including post-op and neuro cases
• Scrub color requirements may apply in accordance with hospital policy
• No on-call requirement for this position
• Holiday and RTO scheduling may be based on hospital needs
