American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 18 months of PCU RN experience and a compact or NC RN license.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 1900 to 0700
• Patient population includes CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more
• Typical RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with potential for 1:5 depending on acuity
• Use of Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring
• Requires floating within Region 3 facilities (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, CMC Main, Mercy, LCH) as needed within scope of practice
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• A minimum of 18 months of recent PCU RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood transfusions, wound care, and central line management
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of step-down/PCU patients not requiring mechanical ventilation
• Support includes CNA for ADLs, day shift HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy services, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation and 2 days of departmental training
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays and follow a 6-week scheduling cycle
• Up to 6 days of time off may be approved, excluding holidays
• Scrub color is navy
