American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Room position in an acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and strong emergency care skills.

Details

• Position based in an acute care hospital Emergency Room with 21 beds
• Patient population includes typical ER cases and occasional MedSurg Telemetry holds
• Patient ratios are 1:4, or 1:2 for ICU-level patients
• Phillips telemetry monitoring and ventilators are used in the unit
• Cerner EMR is utilized and experience is preferred
• Night shifts are 12 hours, with four weekend shifts required in a four-week schedule
• Floating between two ER facilities within 6.5 miles may be required with advanced or mid-shift notice
• Floor-specific orientation is provided at both campuses
• Navy blue scrubs are required, with specific allowances for undershirts and jackets

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency Room RN experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required
• Two recent professional references: one from a supervisor in the last 12 months, and one from a supervisor or peer within the last 3 years, documenting dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Duties include caring for a wide range of emergency cases and MedSurg Telemetry hold patients as assigned
• Highly teamwork-oriented environment with active resource nurse, shift manager, ED techs, and interdisciplinary support
• One major and one minor holiday coverage required during assignment
• ER is a Primary Stroke Center with ability to care for both stroke and critical care patients
• No IV team; nurses are expected to perform IV insertions and related procedures
• First to float status for travelers, with 2-hour advance notice if floating prior to shift
• Former employees of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health not eligible if employed within the past year
• Position must be primary employment during the assignment; alternative schedules will not be accommodated
