Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and strong critical thinking skills.

Details

Position is in a hospital-based Med/Surg unit with 31 beds
12-hour night shifts are required
Must work every other weekend according to department procedures
On-call duties required as needed
Uses Meditech, OBIX, and Pyxis Supply Stations
Comprehensive unit-specific orientation and a 3-day Meditech and OBIX training provided
Nurse-to-patient ratio follows national standards

Requirements

Active Alaska RN license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) and HS AED certifications are mandatory
Minimum of 3 years of recent Med/Surg experience with demonstrated critical thinking skills
Successful completion of onsite medication testing within the first two weeks

Additional Information

Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care based on primary nursing principles
Scrubs are provided by the facility
No floating to other units required
