American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with vent and EPIC experience, requiring an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 36-bed Neuroscience/High-Risk Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit
• Mixed acuity setting including med-surg, intermediate care, and high-risk respiratory patients
• Patient population includes CVA, TIA, seizures, and general neuro cases
• Targeted patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Utilizes heated high flow and BiPAP equipment, with vent management required
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience required
• Day shift schedule: 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00-19:30
• Floating required to the main, south, and north campuses as well as to the Neuro ICU and high-risk respiratory/COVID units, with travelers assigned a buddy when floated
• Team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs is utilized
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required; any state RN license accepted for temporary licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment before starting
• PCU or Stepdown experience with 1:5 patient ratio must be documented in work history; ICU experience does not count
• EPIC charting experience required
• Vent experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• No more than 14 days of RTO (time off) allowed
• Facility does not accept applicants with any past license action
• Locals within 50 miles are not accepted

Additional Information

• Nurses may function in a team nursing or primary nursing model depending on unit needs
• May be assigned patients within the Neuro ICU with an assigned buddy for support
• Professional navy blue scrubs are required
• Holiday coverage and every other weekend work is mandatory
• Vaccination and lab work must be completed promptly after contract signing
• 18-24 hours of orientation modules required, self-reported to manager
• First-time travelers will be considered
