American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity respiratory care stepdown unit with ventilator and trauma experience required.

Details

• Position is in an ICU Respiratory Care Unit (high-acuity stepdown)
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Float to other units required as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 3:1, may be 4:1 depending on census
• Works with ventilated patients and acute/chronically ill patients
• Epic and Cerner electronic medical records systems are used
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS via AHA, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required in hand
• Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with ventilator patients and trauma/neuro background
• Experience must be consecutive within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Degree from an accredited nursing school or approved institution by FBON with 2 years recent acute care experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass P/F testing with at least 70% overall and 100% in lethal/basic arrhythmia sections
• No degrees from Operation Nightingale Schools accepted
• Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations accepted

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity stepdown and ventilated patients with acute, chronic, trauma, and neuro needs
• Charge, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience is preferred
• Team structure may include float assignments based on facility needs
• Completion of facility modules and orientation required prior to start
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to first shift; online orientation resources and study guides are provided
• Smoke-free facility environment
• Must not be a former permanent employee unless separated from the facility for at least 2 years
• Submissions are not allowed as travel pairs
