American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position requiring night shifts and floating to PICU in a Level 2 trauma pediatric setting.

Details

• Work on the Pediatrics unit in a hospital work environment
• Float to PICU as required
• All pediatric diagnoses in a Level 2 pediatric trauma center
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Possible care for pediatric oncology patients without chemotherapy administration
• Off-floor procedures may include sedation, lumbar puncture, bone marrow, line placement, imaging, and GI procedures
• Use of Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), AIDET communication, and hourly rounding required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric RN experience
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (AHA required)
• Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills
• References required, including one from a supervisor
• Cannot reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Multiple pediatric specialties and a designated sedation service are available onsite
• Must be willing to float within the hospital as needed
• Modules are completed during orientation with up to 8 hours billable
• If multiple holidays occur during the assignment, only one holiday time-off request will be accepted
• Returning travelers may not work for more than 1 year without a one-year break in service after their last contract
• COVID vaccine is not required
