Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least two years of experience and expertise with IV starts and telemetry.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of medical-surgical cases, excluding cardiac telemetry patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with a maximum of 1:7 during high census
• 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Every other weekend is a required shift
• Floating to other hospital units or affiliate hospitals as needed based on skillset and census
• Unit uses EPIC and SBAR for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Self-scheduling based on unit needs
• Contracts available for 13 to 26 weeks
• 24-hour unit orientation provided

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of start (pending license is acceptable for consideration)
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry required
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS and NIH certifications preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Unit will not accept first-time travelers
• Candidates with prior permanent or PRN staff employment at the specified health system must have a 12-month gap before applying
• Physically able to float as required

Additional Information

• Must complete pre-employment modules prior to start and annually as required
• Navy and/or white scrubs required
• Must work two out of three major holidays during assignment
• No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• Maximum of 7 days RTO may be approved if not during a holiday
• Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility may be considered at a local rate
• Travel pairs are permitted if assigned to different units
