Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift ICU/CCU position caring for a diverse patient population, requiring a WY or compact RN license and ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital ICU/CCU unit caring for ICU and telemetry patients of all ages, including limited peds
• Unit consists of 11 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2-3:1
• Common cases include ventilated patients, post cardiac cath, IABP, sepsis, COPD, post-op surgical, trauma, limited neuro, DKA, and occasional pediatric cases such as RSV
• Uses Meditec charting system with bedside verification for medication administration
• Equipment includes vents, bipap, Swan Ganz, Phillips monitors, IV pumps, and transvenous pacers
• 12-hour night shifts; shift pattern may be rotating or straight
• Call is not required but may be requested occasionally
• Support staff includes CPS, lab, radiology, 24-hour hospitalist coverage, and eICU support

Requirements

• Active WY or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent ICU experience required
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required
• PALS or ENPC certification required for emergency pediatric support
• Experience caring for telemetry patients and ability to read EKGs required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care to a wide range of patient types including medical, surgical, trauma, and select pediatric cases
• Three shifts of on-the-floor orientation with an ICU RN provided
• Navy scrubs required
• Occasional assistance with pediatric patients, but not as primary caregiver
