American Traveler is seeking an experienced LPN to provide night shift care in a long-term acute care hospital setting, requiring ACLS and BLS certifications and flexibility to float across multiple units.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based long-term acute care (LTAC) setting
• Float assignment across Burks (subacute rehab and pulmonary/ventilator units), household long-term care units, and halls
• Patient populations include subacute rehab, long-term care, memory care, pulmonary, and ventilator-dependent residents
• Night shifts with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and every other major holiday coverage required
• Units feature specialized patient needs including chronic trach care, ventilator support, post-op, post-stroke, diabetes, dementia, and high-acuity rehab
• Staff badge-in/out protocols in memory care units for patient safety

Requirements

• Valid Maryland or compact LPN license required at time of consideration (License required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of LVN/LPN experience in an acute or long-term care setting
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Ability and willingness to float across multiple hospital units as needed
• Two professional references required
• Copy of certifications, Social Security Number, and date of birth required for consideration
• Return staff must have been gone at least 1 year and will be reviewed case by case

• Care for diverse patient populations with needs ranging from rehab and wound care to memory support and complex respiratory management
• Provide direct care, coordinate daily activities, and adapt care to individual patient routines and preferences
• Mandatory attendance at all orientation days (Tuesday-Friday, day shift)
• Virtual training modules to be completed on the first day of contract and annually
• Facility enforces strict time and attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Limited RTO approvals and blackout dates for major holidays and select high-demand dates
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates will float within the hospital within their scope of practice
