American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an acute stroke and cardiac unit, requiring a current NY license and proficiency with Epic.

Details

• Work in an acute stroke and cardiac unit specializing in neurological and acute medical patients
• Patient population includes post-stroke, neuro disorders, post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Adjustable acuity delivery of care model with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Unit size is 26 beds within a tertiary care hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:00)
• Floating between units is required
• EPIC is used for charting and experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, peripheral IV therapy, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from facility

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include caring for post-stroke and acute cardiac patients, responding to rapid response/code situations, and managing isolation precautions
• Must be able to efficiently utilize rapid response and code teams
• Scrub color requirements are any combination of navy and white
• All time off requests must be submitted up front
• Modules and orientation must be completed prior to start, with up to 5 hours billable
• Former staff can return after a 1-year gap
• Locals within a 75-mile radius are not eligible for this position
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as per unit needs
