Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced LPN for a night shift telemetry unit, requiring recent Med Surg experience and proficiency in heparin drips and IV starts.

Details

• Work in a telemetry unit with a varied patient population including elective joint replacements, fractures, trauma, neuro post-ops, and seizures
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
• Floats required as needed to other units
• Unit will expand up to 48 beds within the next year
• Patients may require limited gtts and tele monitoring; no moderate sedation or close reductions performed
• Charge nurse on every shift for support
• Uses equipment such as bucks' traction and Hoyer lifts
• Epic EMR used; Epic experience preferred

Requirements

• Active LPN license required prior to start (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant LPN experience within the past year
• Must have recent experience in Med Surg; MS/Tele preferred
• Proficiency with heparin drips, initiating IVs, lab draws, and Epic documentation
• No first-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred
• Limited to 2 requests for time off per contract
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower rate
• Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Will provide care to patients following a variety of surgical and trauma procedures, as well as those with seizures and strokes
• Required to float and cover every third weekend
• Solid color scrubs in any brand are permitted
• Modules are completed during orientation (non-billable)
