American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department role in a Level 1 trauma, academic medical center with night shift and pediatric trauma experience preferred.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Pediatric Emergency Department within an academic Level 1 trauma center
• Patient census averages approximately 100 per day and includes trauma, respiratory illnesses, fractures, seizures, oncology complications, gastrointestinal illness, and more
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4
• Night shift schedule from 1930 to 0730 with additional shift options available
• Every other weekend rotation is required
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• No on-call or floating requirements
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitors

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum two years of pediatric emergency department experience required; trauma center experience preferred
• PIV placement and advanced pediatric nursing skills preferred
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome for this position
• Team supported by CNAs, receptionists, charge nurse, RT, hospitalist, and intensivists around the clock
• Phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and resource nurse are not available within the department
• Unit emphasizes patient and family-centered care, safety, teamwork, and strong staff engagement
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Free employee parking is provided
• Departmental orientation includes NEO and 2 days of unit training
• All requests for time off require approval by the Resource Team
