American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position requiring a SC or compact state license and a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience.

Details

• Position is based in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a large teaching hospital
• Care for premature and critically ill neonates requiring both medical and surgical interventions
• Assignment includes both day (7:00 am - 7:30 pm) and night (7:00 pm - 7:30 am) 12-hour shifts, with rotation between shifts
• Requires four weekend shifts within each four week period and participation in a holiday rotation
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary from 1:2, 1:3, to 1:4, depending on patient acuity
• Unit uses Epic EMR, with experience preferred
• Solid royal blue or white tops with royal blue bottoms are the required scrub colors

Requirements

• Active South Carolina or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start
• BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU RN experience required
• Level IV NICU experience required; Level III experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Social Security Number and driver’s license required for consideration
• Previous perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before applying
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a reduced rate

• Responsibilities include individualized, goal-directed care for neonates and their families utilizing nursing process principles
• Unit provides advanced therapies including ECMO/CRRT and supports an infant home monitoring program
• Team-oriented environment with interdisciplinary collaboration
• Pre-assignment modules required to be completed before starting
• Holiday and emergency response coverage may be required, especially during hurricane season (June-November)
• Block scheduling may be possible at manager’s discretion
• All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted at the time of application and is approved based on unit needs
• Parking requires a facility-supplied permit with a small registration fee
